MAC Venomous Villains: A De Vil-ish Face of the Day - Makeup and Beauty Blog
WOW! Where does the time become? Today it occurred to me that the MAC Venomous Villains collection'south just a hop, skip and a jump away (September xxx).
Can I go a WOOT, WOOT! (and an evil cackle) from all the MAC-aholics in the hood? 😀
The drove, a collaboration betwixt Disney and MAC, features four separate color stories, each one based on a different Disney villain — Cruella de Vil, of 101 Dalmatians fame; Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty; the Evil Queen, scourge of Snow White; and Dr. Facilier, from The Princess and the Frog (discover out more nearly the whole collection here).
Despite the subject thing and cartoon imagery, these Trix aren't for kids. The colors are incomparably grown up, and the products MAC caliber through and through.
Today I took Cruella's color story out for a spin with a softened version of a classic black true cat eye and paired it with rosy cheeks and a glossy red lip.
MAC Venomous Villains Cruella de Vil makeup clockwise from lower left: Eyeshadow in Sweet Joy, Eyeshadow in De-Vil, Eyeshadow in Carbon, Powder Blush in Darkly My Beloved, Lipstick in Heartless, Lipstick in Innocence, Beware!, Beauty Powder in Her Own Devices
Starting with my eyes, I swept the shimmery copper De-Vil eyeshadow into the pucker. Considering the shade'southward so pigmented, I didn't use much. Just a tad, applied with a light touch. Next, I patted shimmery biscuit Sweet Joy on my lid and along the forehead bone. For my cat optics, I used matte black Carbon eyeshadow as a liner, drawing information technology along the lash and water lines (both the uppers and lowers).
The cheeks, I kept subtle, using matte rosy brown Powder Blush in Darkly My Honey on the apples and peachy pinkish Beauty Powder in Her Own Devices on my upper cheek bones (for a quiet sheen).
Because the eyes and cheeks aren't that loud, I added a POP of color to my lips, mixing creamy peachy pink Lipstick in Innocence, Beware! to flossy red Lipstick in Heartless, topping them off with shimmery scarlet Lipglass in Wacked Ways. 🙂
If you ever have trouble cartoon shine lines with liquid liner, this approach gets around having to piece of work with funky brushes and pen tip applicators. I think black powder eyeshadows applied with a brush (here I used the $half-dozen Sonia Kashuk Bent Liner Brush) and used as liner are more forgiving than liquid liners. The lines accept a faint blur to them, which can make mistakes a lilliputian tougher to spot. 🙂
There you have it — my Thursday makeup. Besides bad I didn't exercise anything devilish with information technology on, LOL!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
